Put on the Glasses

I am in heaven. As of last week, Netflix watch now is available on the XBox. This means that I can watch hundreds of movies instantly, on my TV, through my XBox. The catch is that you have to have a Netflix membership and an XBox Live Gold membership. Funny thing is, I already have both. Sometimes, corporate ploys for more money work in my favor. Bwahaha. It is awesome. So far I have watched: Deliverance Rebel Without a Cause Life of Mammals Weeds Season 2 Technology rocks.

I love Turkey Day. All the food is delicious and it is always fun to eat until your stomach wants to burst. I have already begun planning our feast this year. I felt like posting about it because this year I am doing something different. Anyone who has had a turkey cooked by me in the past knows that I have been a big proponent of the "turkey bag." This being a bag you stick the turkey in to cook it that keeps the moisture in. However, this year is going to be different. First, my friend Max told me that he always brines his turkey. Then Nicole informed me that brining was really hot this year. Finally, Brian bought a box set of Alton Brown's Good Eats episodes and Alton Brown says he brines his turkey. Basically, anything Alton Brown does is fine by me. He has given me such wonderful things as homemade popcorn, better steak and popovers. So, brining is my new plan. So, I was scared. I admit my fear of not passing the bar exam has paralyzed me for the past month. I stopped posting here, I forgot to wish Tanya a happy birthday and as each day of the month passed I got more and more irritable and nervous. However, as of last Friday.... I PASSED THE NEW YORK BAR EXAM!!!!! I will now join the ranks of the lawyer elite. I am now amongst the likes of people such as Judge Judy, John Grisham and Jack McCoy. I am so happy. Now I just have to complete an application, sit in an interview and get sworn in. Piece of cake. They privately released the results at 9am but I wasn't able to access them until after 12pm because the website kept crashing. I think I hit the refresh button about 1 million times. Obama won! Hooray! This is a picture of the black and white cookies I bought today at Zaro's in Grand Central Station. I thought they were funny. They were actually pretty big cookies. Happy election day everyone! I am going to go wait for Obama's speech.

Brian and I got up before the sun this morning to cast our votes! It was different than in Minnesota. The machines were old with levers and no paper (see above; picture from thepodger ). Even at 6:15 am, the lines were long. Also, it took us nearly a half an hour to figure out which line to be in but after we did it went smoothly. The most disappointing thing was that they didn't give out "I Voted" stickers. To make up for it, I promptly went to Starbucks to get my free, illegal (because you can't give prizes for voting) cup of coffee! I am really excited to watch the results roll in. Brian and I are watching the results come in through MSNBC because of Brian's new obsession with Keith Olbermann. If you haven't voted, go vote! You can probably guess who I voted for...

When Brian and I went to Cost Co. on Saturday, we had to change trains at Smith & 9th, the last subway stop on the G train (also where you get out to go to IKEA).
