Last night, my friend Jay was kind enough to get me a ticket to see the Rangers play at Madison Square Garden. It was a preseason game, so the team was playing all of the rookies. It was against Tampa Bay and, unfortunately, the Rangers lost, 4-2. Jay says that I may not be allowed to go to another game because I jinxed the team. She is a superstitious fan!
Jay has season tickets so we were sitting amongst a group of season ticket holders. I never knew what camaraderie exists amongst these fans. They all know each other and chat throughout the game.
Probably the best part of the game was the fighting. Two fights broke out in the first period, which amused me immensely. It was a bummer that we lost the game too because we out fought them in each fist fight!
Finally, I am grateful that I was not hit in the head by a puck like my mom last week. Her nose was broken when a puck flew over the glass during an under-18 game. Thank goodness that she seems to be healing well.
