On Saturday, Brian and I ventured out into the depths of Brooklyn to go to Cost Co. A couple of weeks ago, Brian found out that there was a Cost Co in Brooklyn and he just had to go there. He went alone last week and got a membership and a bunch of food. Yesterday we went to officially stock up on deals. We dragged our cart and two big tote bags. I think we were the only ones taking the subway there! Everyone else came by car. The parking lot was packed and the store was busy. The strange part was that even though it was busy, most of the people were really nice! Maybe it is only those of us who ride the subway who have no patience with crowds.
Here is a picture of Brian while we waited to check out:
This picture was taken right before he got into an argument with a woman who was debating cutting in line ahead of us. Apparently she had left her son in line with a full cart and now was returning with another cart, angry with her poor 6 year old for having moved out of the line in her absence. She was eying the line, deciding if she could get away with cutting in front of us. Brian told her to go to the end of the line. She snapped back and Brian held his own. She ended up leaving, angrily. Brian is turning into quite the New Yorker. He has absolutely no qualms telling people in line where to go. I'm so proud.
Anyways, here is a picture of some of our new stuff:
It was so cheap. That pile isn't even a complete picture of everything. We also got a case of Brooklyn Lager for less than a dollar a bottle.
Also, I got a case of Kashi Crunchy Bars for about half the price I pay regularly. Those bars are my new lunch obsession. Only 150 calories and I am full for lunch. Diets always spawn new cravings.
